Long before formal musical training, his first musical identity emerged in the European demoscene under the handle Carlos. Beginning with composition on the Commodore 64 and later PC tracker software, he developed an early fascination with texture, atmosphere, and electronic sound design. His most widely recognized works from this period include the soundtracks for the Mandula demos created by the groups DIS and Live-Evil — pieces that continue to circulate within the international demoscene community today.
Berlin — Production, Electronics, and Swansong (2010-)
After moving to Berlin in 2010, his focus expanded toward music production, remixing, and the city’s evolving electronic and experimental music culture. During this period he produced remixes for Tokyo Dawn Records while developing a hybrid artistic language combining acoustic instruments, groove-based composition, and electronic textures. Berlin also marked the beginning of Swansong Trio, a long-term artistic project that would later become the foundation of his international jazz career.
Orchestra Musician, Cruise Ships, and Composition (2014-)
Between 2014 and 2019 he worked extensively as an orchestra pianist and solo pianist aboard international cruise ships, performing in a wide range of musical settings while continuing to deepen his compositional and arranging skills offstage. Alongside performance work, he increasingly focused on soundtrack composition and production music. His soundtrack for the documentary Egodetox received First Prize at the Bujtor Film Festival in 2019.
Jazz Career and International Touring (2019-)
Since 2019 his primary artistic focus has been contemporary jazz performance, composition, and recording. Between 2019 and 2023 he released eight albums as bandleader and collaborator, developing a musical language shaped by improvisation, cinematic textures, and groove-oriented writing. His album Chasing a Dream was awarded Album of the Year in 2022 by NativeDSD.
His projects have toured internationally with performances in Germany, China, and Japan. The largest tour to date was the 15 Years of Swansong Asian tour in 2025, featuring performances across 13 cities.
Formal Studies and Large Ensemble Writing (2024-)
In 2024 he began formal higher education studies at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, studying jazz piano, composition, and contemporary music with teachers including Kálmán Oláh and Béla Faragó. In 2026 he received a scholarship to study for a semester at the Manhattan School of Music, where he focused primarily on contemporary large ensemble arranging and hybrid composition under the guidance of Darcy James Argue and Chris Zuar. His current artistic direction centers on contemporary jazz orchestra writing, narrative composition, and the integration of acoustic and electronic musical environments.
